There is provided herein a method for the manufacture of alkoxysilyl-containing thiocarboxylic acid ester which comprises reacting a thioester with a mercapto-functional alkoxy silane and/or an alkali metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt, a trisubstituted ammonium salt of an alkoxysilyl-functional thiolate which uses economical and readily available reagents, avoids the use of phosgene or thionyl chloride reagents and produces byproducts that may be recycled.

Problem to be solved: To provide a method for producing a polymer having a desired composition in a high-yield, immediate and easy manner by continuously producing and reproducing acetyl-CoA without using a purified enzyme or expensive ATP.
Solution: A method for producing a polymer includes a chemical thioester exchange reaction for forming an acetyl-CoA by reacting an acetyl-thioester with CoA, a monomer-producing reaction for forming a (monomer precursor)-CoA derivative by reacting at least one monomer precursor compound with the acetyl-CoA and a polymerization reaction for forming the polymer compriseing units of the monomer by polymerizing the (monomer precursor)-CoA derivative.

The present invention relates to a textile fiber structure comprising man-made fibers fortified by a binder comprising a polymer latex obtained from the emulsion polymerization in aqueous medium of a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising:
(a) an aliphatic conjugated diene
(b) a vinyl aromatic compound;
(c) an ethylenically unsaturated silane bearing at least one silicon bonded hydrolysable group, and
(d) an ethylenically unsaturated acid
and to its use in construction applications, and to the use of the above binder to fortify textile fiber structures.
