Peroxotungstophosphate (PCWP) was found to be an efficient catalyst for the oxidation of amines with 35% H2O2 under the biphasic or homogeneous condition. Thus, primary and secondary amines were oxidized to oximes and nitrones, respectively, in good yields. Aromatic amines afforded to the corresponding nitroso compounds and/or nitrobenzenes.

Oxidation of secondaryamines catalyzed by methyltrioxorhenium (MTO) with H2O2 or urea-hydrogen peroxide complex (UHP) at room temperature gives the corresponding nitrones in good yields.
在室温下,用H 2 O 2或脲-过氧化氢络合物(UHP)将甲基三氧ox(MTO)催化的仲胺氧化,可以得到相应的硝酮,收率很高。

Oxidation of secondary amines with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of selenium dioxide catalyst at room temperature gives nitrones, which are versatile synthetic intermediates, highly efficiently.
The effect of hydrogen bonding between nitrones and urea derivatives in the nucleophilicaddition reaction was examined. Thioureas bearing an electron-withdrawing group on an aromatic ring, behave like Lewis acid to promote the addition of TMSCN and ketene silyl acatals to various nitrones and aldehydes. Presumed interaction between nitrones and thioureas was supported by NMR experiments.

The methyltrioxorhenium-catalyzed oxidation of secondaryamines and primaryamines with hydrogen peroxide has been carried out. The oxidation of secondaryamines afforded nitrones in good-to-excellent yield. Benzylamines were selectively oxidized to oximes, while general primary alkylamines possessing the α-C–H bond gave mixtures of oximes, nitroso dimers, and azoxy compounds.
