  已经报道了利用 Julia 砜烯化反应对视黄酸及其酯衍生物的立体选择性和收敛合成的广泛研究。已制备酸 4a 的各种 C 5 单元、来自化学和生物学重要醇的酯 4b-e 和呋喃酮 6 并与 C 1 5 烯丙基砜 3 偶联得到 C 2 0 化合物 10 和 11，其在脱氢磺化反应后以高度立体选择性的方式提供全-(E)-视黄酸(1a)、其酯衍生物1b-e和呋喃酮类似物12b。C 5 二酯 13 和 C 1 5 烯丙基砜 3 的 Julia 烯化反应产生了已知的 C 2 0 二酸 15，该二酸 15 经历了立体选择性单脱羧基化以提供 13-(Z)-视黄酸 (2) 或全-( E)-视黄酸 (1) 取决于所使用的试剂。
