  Novel ergoline compounds of the following formula are described: wherein R1 is ethyl, n-propyl, or allyl; Y is O, S, SO, or SO2; X is hydrogen, chloro, or bromo; the dotted line represents the optional presence of a double bond; and the pharmaceutically-acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
