The synthesis of some novel (spirocycloalkenyl)trimethylsilylacetylenes employing the Sonogashira coupling
reaction of the corresponding novel spirocycloalkenyliodides with trimethylsilylacetylene and Pd(PPh3)2Cl2/CuI catalyst
in yields ranging 79-84% is reported. The compounds would serve as novel (spirocycloalkenyl)acetylenic anionic synthons.
