branched-chain amino acids. Earlier gene mutation of Candida albicans in a mouse model suggested that this enzyme is a promising target of antifungals. Recent studies have demonstrated that some commercial AHAS-inhibiting sulfonylurea herbicides exerted desirable antifungal activity. In this study, we have designed and synthesized 68 novel ethoxysulfulron (ES) derivatives and evaluated their inhibition

volatility, storage instability, toxicity, and explosiveness. We report the application of trifluoroacetaldehyde N-tosylhydrazone as a CF3CHN2 precursor capable of generating in situ trifluorodiazoethane under mild basic conditions. Copper-catalyzed P–H, O–H, S–H, and C–H insertion reactions of trifluoroacetaldehyde N-tosylhydrazone revealed its wide applicability in the synthesis of trifluoroethyl-containing
Topical alcoholic gel compositions are disclosed that are useful for delivering therapeutic levels of an NSAID to target in and below the skin. The compositions comprise a topically active drug, an alcoholic solvent, a polymeric thickener, and optionally a keratolytic agent. In one embodiment, excellent viscosity for dermal application is attained without the need of a step for neutralizing the pH of the composition. Alcoholic and alcohol-free topical compositions comprising an NSAID prodrug are also disclosed. The compositions are particularly useful for the treatment of pseudofolliculitis barbae.
