One-pot preparation of β-amido ketones/esters in a three-component condensation reaction using magnesium hydrogensulfate as an effective and reusable catalyst
three-component condensation of an aryl aldehyde, an enolizable ketone or β-keto ester, acetyl chloride, and acetonitrile or benzonitrile in the presence of magnesium hydrogensulfate as an active, recoverable, and reusable green catalyst is described for the synthesis of β-amido ketones/esters at room temperature. The key features of this methodology are simplicity, mild reaction conditions, and high
A modified Dakin‐West one‐pot, four‐component condensation of an aryl aldehyde, aryl ketone, acetyl chloride and acetonitrile in the presence of silicasupportedperchloricacid as an active, inexpensive, recoverable and recyclable catalyst is reported for the synthesis of β‐acetamido ketones under mechanical stirring and ultrasonic irradiation conditions. This system has advantages of short reaction
Iodineefficiently catalyzes the three-component coupling of aromaticaldehydes, enolizable ketones or keto esters, and acetonitrile in the presence of acetyl chloride to afford β-acetamido ketones in good yields at room temperature.

Abstract Moleculariodineefficiently catalyzes the four‐component tandem reaction of araldehydes, arylmethyl ketones, acetyl chloride, and acetonitrile to afford the corresponding β‐acetamido‐β‐aryl‐propiophenones. The new protocol gives high yields of the products, and the reactions go to completion within 10–15 min on a hot plate at 80–85°C.
