The polyesters are prepared by causing a dicarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid derivative and a diol in a molar ratio between 1:1.8 and 1:2.2 to react in an esterification reaction in a first step to form an OH-terminated prepolyester with an Mn of at most 600 and then converting the prepolyester obtained with a dicarboxylic anhydride into a COOH-terminated oligoester in a second step, via a ring opening reaction, after which, in a third step, the oligoester obtained reacts with a monocarboxylic acid glycidyl ester via a ring opening reaction.
