Ceric ammonium nitrate-mediated oxidative cycloaddition of 1,3-dicarbonyls to conjugated compounds afforded substituted dihydrofurans, dihydrofurocoumarins, dihydrofuroquinolinones, and dihydrofurophenalenones in moderate yields.
