    Mechanisms for the chlorine atom initiated oxidation of dimethoxymethane and 1,2-dimethoxyethane in the presence of NOx
    摘要:
    The chlorine atom initiated gas-phase oxidations of dimethoxymethane and 1,2-dimethoxyethane, have been investigated in the presence of NOx. Methoxymethyl formate and dimethyl carbonate were identified as the oxidation products of dimethoxymethane with molar yields of 0.72 +/- 0.05 and 0.26 +/- 0.02 respectively. The oxidation products of 1,2-dimethoxyethane were methyl formate (1.51 +/- 0.16) and methoxyethyl formate (0.11 +/- 0.01). The results of these studies are used to elucidate simplified gas-phase atmospheric degradation schemes for the diethers and also provide valuable information on the atmospheric fate of the alkoxy radicals produced in these and similar reactions.

    A completely fluorinated ester of the type RFCO2CF2RF′ was obtained from reaction of silver 3,6,9-trioxa-F-undecanoate and iodine with a diluent at 130°. This new substance resembled closely the previously prepared 1,1-dichloro-F-alkyl esters and was hydrolytically and thermally labile.   • Partially decomposed catalyst and hydrocarbon oxidation processes using the same

    The present invention is related to a hydrocarbon oxidation process. The process comprises bringing one or more hydrocarbons into contact with a source of oxygen in the presence of a radical initiator and a catalyst. The catalyst comprises an organic metal complex located on a catalyst support, and is obtained by partial decomposition of the organic metal complex. For example, the process can be used to produce dimethyl carbonate from dimethoxy methane. The invention is also related to a partially decomposed catalyst that comprises a silica support and an organic metal complex, wherein at least 5% of the organic compound remains in the catalyst. The organic metal complex comprises an organic compound and a metal-based compound wherein the metal is selected from copper, nickel, and combinations thereof. The invention is also related to a process for manufacturing of a catalyst comprising mixing L-arginine, a Cu-based compound, water, and optionally another metal-based compound to form a solution; impregnating the solution onto a silica support to form a catalyst precursor; and partially decomposing the L-arginine to form the catalyst so that at least 5% of L-arginine remains in the catalyst.

    The reaction of olefins with chloromethoxymethane (CMM) and excess formic acid in ether, in the presence of ZnCl2 or HgCl2, afforded mainly four products, 1-chloro- and 1-formyloxy-2-(formyloxymethyl)alkanes, and 3,5-dialkyl-4-chloro- and 3,5-dialkyl-4-(formyloxy)tetrahydropyrans, in various yields.
