    There is disclosed a cross-linked hyaluronate compound obtained by reacting a sodium hyaluronate compound with a polfunctional aziridine compound as a cross-linking agent. The polyfunctional aziridine compound was added to hyaluronan of various molecular weights in an equivalent ratio of HA/AZ of 1:1 to 1:10, preferably, 1:3 to 1:10, more preferably, 1:3 to 1:5; most preferably 1:4 to 1:5. The polymeric hydrogel compounds obtained are useful to prevent the formation of post-operative adhesions, designing tissue engineering applications, and the like.

    The present invention provides a modified polymer, which is obtained by reacting, with an active metal bonded to a polymer, a modifier represented by the general formula (I) (where X1 to X5 each represent a hydrogen atom or a specific monovalent functional group, and at least one of those is other than a hydrogen atom, R1 to R5 each represent a single bond or a divalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and a plurality of aziridine rings may be bonded through any of X1 to X5 and R1 to R5). More particularly, the present invention provides a novel modified polymer which has excellent interaction with carbon black and enables improvement in dispersibility of the carbon black when used in a rubber composition blended with the carbon black, a rubber composition containing the modified polymer and capable of providing a tire excellent in low heat generating property, rupture characteristics, and abrasion resistance, and a tire made of the rubber composition and having the above-mentioned characteristics.

    The present invention provides a modified conjugated diene polymer that is prepared by polymerization of a conjugated diene compound using a catalyst containing a lanthanoid rare earth element compound in an organic solvent and then modifying the resulting polymer having an active organic metal site with a modifier, wherein the modification efficiency is not less than 15% and the cis-1,4 bond content in the conjugated diene moiety measured by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy satisfies the relationship (I): or the modification efficiency is not less than 75% and the cis-1,4 bond content in the conjugated diene moiety measured by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy satisfies the relationship (II): The invention further provides a rubber composition containing the modified conjugated diene polymer and giving a tire exhibiting low heat build-up, satisfactory failure characteristics, and high abrasion resistance, and a tire composed of the rubber composition and exhibiting these characteristics.

    A rubber composition comprises 10 to 70 parts by mass of carbon black having 20 to 100 m2/g of the specific surface area by nitrogen adsorption per 100 parts by mass of a rubber component comprising 20 to 80 parts by mass of a modified polybutadiene rubber and 80 to 20 parts by mass of natural rubber and/or at least one other diene-based synthetic rubber, wherein the modified polybutadiene is obtained by polymerizing 1,3-butadiene in an organic solvent using a compound having a rare earth element of the lanthanoid series, followed by modifying the obtained polybutadiene, and has a content of the cis-1,4-bond of 92% or greater, a content of vinyl bond of 1.5% or smaller and a fraction of the modified chain end of 20% or greater; and a tire using the rubber composition for a sidewall. The rubber composition exhibits excellent low heat buildup property and resistance to fracture.

    An object of the present invention is to provide a rubber composition which not only realizes sufficiently low heat generation properties but also exhibits more excellent crack growth resistance than the conventional rubber composition. The rubber composition contains in 100 mass% of rubber components thereof: 20-80 mass% of natural rubber in which the total nitrogen content in natural rubber latex is in the range of 0.1 mass% to 0.4 mass% (exclusive of 0.1 mass% and inclusive of 0.4 mass%); and butadiene-based polymer having cis content of 90% or higher.
