Carbondioxide is trapped by (5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphinato) aluminum acetate in the presence of a secondary amine in the form of an aluminum carbamate on the opposite side to the acetate group with respect to the porphyrin plane. Carbondioxide thus trapped by aluminum porphyrin is activated enough to undergo a catalytic reaction involving secondary amine and epoxide to afford dialkylcarbamic ester
