  Under stannic chloride catalysis, 2-bromo-2-cycloalkenones 1 and 2 were found to undergo Diels-Alder reaction with dienes to give adducts in high yields. Subsequent treatment of the adducts with 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene gave the corresponding doubly cisoid fully conjugated dienones.
