    The present invention relates to a method for preparing an ionic liquid having a carboxylic acid anion using a microreactor. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for preparing, with high efficiency, an ionic liquid having a carboxylic acid anion as shown in FIG. 1, by having sodium butanoate, sodium 2-ethylhexanoate, or sodium octanoate undergo a substitution reaction with 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium, 1,1-alkylmethylpyrrolidinium, 1,2-dimethyl-3-alkylimidazolium, 1-alkyl-3-methylpyridinium, or tetramethylammonium, each of which being a cation. The ionic liquid prepared according to the present invention has high purity, containing residual halide at less than 10 ppm, and has high electrical conductivity, and therefore is capable of being used as an electrolyte or for a condenser.

    The present disclosure discloses a homogeneous catalyst comprising an ionic liquid with an anion and a cation, wherein the anion and the cation both comprises a nitrogen-containing heterocycle, wherein the cation has a structure represented by Formula I or Formula II, and the anion has a structure represented by Formula III, Formula IV or Formula V. The present disclosure further provides a heterogeneous catalyst comprising the homogeneous catalyst, a preparation method and use of the homogeneous catalyst and the heterogeneous catalyst. The homogeneous catalyst and heterogeneous catalyst are used to synthesize high-purity ethyl methyl carbonate product by the transesterification of dimethyl carbonate and ethanol, transesterification of dimethyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate, or transesterification of methanol and diethyl carbonate, and exhibit high reaction activity wherein a reaction equilibrium can be reached when the reaction time is 5 min and the reaction temperature is in a range from 76°C to 78°C, and the both catalysts show high catalytic activity even at near room temperature 30°C. The synthesized ionic liquids exhibit substantially unchanged catalytic activity and show higher stability, even after reused 20 times.

    In recent years, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium carboxylate ionic liquids (Is) have been reported to be powerful solvents for cellulose. However, little is known for the influence of the chain length in carboxylate anion on the solubility of cellulose. Therefore, in this work, we have synthesized 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium carboxylate ILs including 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium formate ([C(4)mim][HCOO]), acetate ([C(4)min][CH3COO]), propionate ([C(4)mim][CH3CH2COO]) and butyrate ([C(4)mim][CH3(CH2)(2)COO]), in which the alkyl chain length in the carboxylate anion is being varied. Solubilities of cellulose in the ILs have been determined experimentally at 70 degrees C. The effect of the chain length in carboxylate anion on the solubility of cellulose has been estimated and investigated by H-1 NMR Meanwhile, the regenerated cellulose from the ILs were investigated by scanning electron micrograph (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy.
