4-trimethylsilylcyclohexene and the analogous trimethylsilyl substituted cyclopentenes, 1-trimethylsilylcyclopentene, 3-trimethylsilylcyclopentene and 4-trimethylsilylcyclopentene have been hydroborated and oxidized under kinetic and thermodynamic conditions.
