A highly efficient microwave-assisted solvent-free synthesis of α- and β-2′-deoxy-1,2,3-triazolyl-nucleosides

Microwave activation coupled with Cu(I) catalysis, under solvent-free conditions, was found to dramatically enhance the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between azido-2′-deoxyribose and terminal alkynes. The process is highly efficient and quantitatively affords, in few minutes, the corresponding 4-substituted 1,2,3-triazolyl-nucleosides.
