l) propyl[bicyclo[3.1.0]-hex-3-en-2-one, which underwent photorearrangement to 10 on further irradiation. Photorearrangement of 2,5-cyclohexadien-1-one 9b has been shown to give a mixture of diastereomeric bicyclohexenones 11 ; irradiation of 9b or 11 in the presence of furan gave cycloadduct 13. These observations indicate that the apparent photostability of 6-alkyl-6-cyclobicyclo[3.1.0]hexenones
