efficient and convenient approach for the synthesis of thiazole derivatives from α-halo ketones, thiosemicarbazide, and o-hydroxybenzaldehydes in poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG-400) is described. The preparation procedure presented is operationally simple and environmentally benign. Some of the major advantages of this procedure are high yields and ease of operation.
