A highly efficient method to fulfil the three-componentC1alkynylation of tetrahydroisoquinolinescatalyzed by silveracetate was developed. This method features excellent regioselectivity and mild reaction conditions, is oxidant free, and can be performed in air. The power of this methodology was demonstrated by the rapid construction of the core structure of the natural product (tetrahydroberberine)
