  Several new trifluoromethylated thiazoles and isothiazoles have been prepared using SF4on precursor carboxylic acids. This chemistry demonstrates the usefulness and applicabilityof the sulfur tetrafluoride fluorination to the preparation of novel thiazoles and isothiazoles.
