Nucleophilic α-Arylation and α-Alkylation of Ketones by Polarity Inversion of N-Alkoxyenamines: Entry to the Umpolung Reaction at the α-Carbon Position of Carbonyl Compounds
N‐alkoxyenamines from ketones has led to an efficient umpolung reaction. The alkylation of N‐alkoxyenamines with trialkylaluminum compounds proceeded smoothly and gave α‐alkylated ketones (see scheme). This reaction offers a simple transformation of ketones into α‐substituted ketones without the need to isolate enamines and intermediary imines.

An efficient procedure has been developed for the alkylation of cyclic ketones, based on the reaction of trialkylboranes with cyclic α-diazo ketones. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions, affords high yields of α-alkylated cycloalkanones, and circumvents certain difficulties inherent in previous alkylation methods.

Aromatische Amine, insbesondere substituierte Amine, erhält man aus entsprechenden alicyclischen Alkoholen oder Ketonen in einer Stufe durch Aminierung und Dehydrierung mit Ammoniak in Gegenwart von Wasserstoff und einem Palladiumkatalysator, der Zink oder Cadmium enthält.
