Abstract An efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines containing aliphatic and 2-(1-hydroxycyclopropyl)methyl substituents via multicomponent Hantzsch reaction using europium(III) chloride hexahydrate as catalyst.
