Chemical transformations of diazoles in the reactions with dimethylchloromethylchlorosilane

The behavior of 3,5-dimethylpyrazole, 3(5)-methylpyrazole, imidazole, and their trimethylsilyl derivatives in the reactions with dimethylchloromethylchlorosilane or its mixture with hexamethyldisilazane was studied. The processes are found to lead to the formation of the products of resilylation, which under the reaction conditions are isomerized into the silylmethylated products.
