  AbstractThe preparation of novel prostaglandin analogues from PGA2, isolated from marine corals, is outlined.The synthesis of prostaglandins that contain a cyclobutane instead of the cyclopentane ring is described.In addition, a detailed account of the total synthesis of prostaglandins by the tropolone route is given.
