Different derivatives of a novel heterocyclic system, i.e., pyrimido[4,5‐d] [1,2,4]triazolo[4,3‐a]pyrimidine, are synthesized in moderate‐to‐good yields. These compounds exhibit excellent photochromism upon photoirradiation.
