The reaction of triphenylphosphine with some organometal haloacetates [(CH3)3SiOCOCHBr2, (CH3)3SiOCOCCl3, (n-C4H9)3SnOCOCCl3 and (CH3)3Sb(OCOCCl3)2] gave the corresponding organometal halides (ca. 80%) and (C6H5)3PO (ca.90%), and in the presence of cyclopentadiene, cycloaddition products (ca.30%).
