The unsaturated (poly)alkylene glycol ether monomer of the present invention is an unsaturated (poly)alkylene glycol ether monomer production method for producing an unsaturated (poly)alkylene glycol ether monomer by addition reaction of an alkylene oxide on an unsaturated alcohol, wherein the production method includes a step of carrying out addition reaction under condition of existence of 0.01 to 25 parts by mass of an unsaturated (poly)alkylene glycol diether monomer to 100 parts by mass of the unsaturated alcohol, and a (poly)alkylene glycol chain-containing polymer production method, wherein a monomer component including an unsaturated (poly)alkylene glycol ether monomer produced by the production method.

    Flame retardant compositions of this invention are produced by incorporating a urea-organic compound condensate into a flammable organic material. The urea-organic compounds condensate are produced by heating urea and organic compounds that will condensate with or react with isocyanic add and/or cyanic acid or heating urea first then reacting the condensation compounds with other organic compounds. The urea-organic compound condensate may be mixed with or reacted with carbonization auxiliaries, aldehydes and fillers in produce a urea-organic compound condensate composition which is incorporated in more flammable organic compositions such as polyurethanes, polyester resins, epoxy resins, vinyl resins and other resins. The urea-organic compound condensate salts of phosphorus, boron or sulfur containing compounds and the urea-organic compound condensate-aldehyde resins may also be used as the flame retardant compound in this invention. For example, polyurethane foams can be rendered less flammable with the urea-organic compound condensate or compositions and utilized as insulating materials.

    To provide a method of producing a polyether polyol having less coloration with good selectivity and high efficiency by dehydrocondensing a polyol. In producing a polyether polyol by dehydrocondensation reaction of a polyol, a solid acid catalyst satisfying at least one of the following requirements (1) to (3) is used: (1) Acid function H 0 measured by Hammett's indicator adsorption method is larger than −3; (2) In Temperature-Programmed Desorption (TPD) analysis of ammonia, desorption amount of ammonia in a region of from 100 to 350° C. is 60% or more of the entire ammonia desorption amount (a region of from 25 to 700° C.); and (3) In thermogravimetry (TG), desorption amount of water is 3% by weight or more of a reference weight in a region of from 32 to 250° C.

    A photopolymerizable polyurethane composition comprising (1) a polyurethane based on an aliphatic diisocyanate, poly(hexamethylene isophthalate glycol) and, optionally, 1,4-butanediol; (2) a polyfunctional acrylic ester; (3) a photoinitiator; and (4) an antioxidant, can be formulated so that it provides a hard, abrasion-resistant, and stain-resistant finish for floor tiles or so that it can be used as a scratch-resistant and stain-resistant outer coating for bilayer automotive safety glass assemblies.     Novel polyester imides are provided that can be formulated as wire coating enamels and can provide a highly heat resistant coating on wire or other electrical conductors. In the where X is 0 or CH2, and the polyester imide contains from 40 to 50 equivalent % of imide groups; (b) the polyester imide has a hydroxy:carboxy equivalent ratio of 2.65:1 to 4.0:1; (c) the mole percent of the ingredients from which the polyester imide is derived arepolyester imides (a) the imide group in the polyester imide are derived mainly from the imide dibasic acid of the formula and the mole ratio trimellitic anhydride:aromatic diamine is substantially 2:1 and the mole ratio trihydric alcohol:dihydric alcohol is in the range 0.23:1 to 0.62:1; (d) the dihydric alcohol is mainly either ethylene glycol or a mixture of ethylene glycol and a minor amount of another alkanediol, the trihydric alcohol is mainly tris(2-hydroxyethyl) isocyanurate, the aromatic diamine is mainly methylene dianiline or oxydianiline, and the aromatic diacid is terephthalic acid and the aromatic diester is a di(lower alkyl) terephthalate; (e) the polyester imide has a molecular weight in the range 700 to 2,000; and (f) the polyester imide has a hydroxyl number in the range 350 to 450.
