    The present disclosure describes new inhibitors or antagonists of Ras useful for the treatment of conditions resulting from Ras-induced or mediated cellular processes, including cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, senescence, and survival. These cellular processes may be associated with a non-malignant or malignant disease, disorder, or pathological condition. The present disclosure also describes a method for inhibiting such Ras-induced or mediated cellular processes. The method entails administering a Ras antagonist in an amount effective to inhibit such cellular processes.

    Efforts are described towards the total synthesis of the bacterial macrolide rhizoxin F, which is a potent tubulin assembly and cancer cell growth inhibitor. A significant amount of work was expanded on the construction of the rhizoxin core macrocycle by ring-closing olefin metathesis (RCM) between C(9) and C(10), either directly or by using relay substrates, but in no case was ring-closure achieved

    A lithographic printing plate precursor is disclosed including (i) a support having a hydrophilic surface or which is provided with a hydrophilic layer, and (ii) a coating including a photopolymerisable layer, characterised in that the photopolymerisable layer comprises a compound comprising at least one moiety having a structure according to Formula (I): wherein X represents O or NR* and R* represents hydrogen, an optionally substituted alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heteroaryl group; and * denotes the linking positions to the rest of the compound. The application further discloses a monomer including at least one moiety having a structure according to Formula (I) and at least one moiety having a structure according to Formula (VIII): wherein X represents O or NR* and wherein R* represents hydrogen, or an optionally substituted alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or heteroaryl group; R5 represents hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl group; and * denotes the linking positions to the rest of the monomer.
