  Styrenes efficiently undergo thiocyanation and azidation with cis-1,4-bis(triphenylphosphonium)-2-butene peroxodisulfate at 0 degrees C to furnish the corresponding thiocyanatoketones and azidoketones. This method is a direct, one-pot synthesis under mild condition using methanol as solvent.
