  (EN) Poly(esteramide) having thermotropic polymorphic properties is characterized by repeating structure (I), where x = integers from 1 to 14; y = integers from 3 to 9; R1, R2 = H when x+y is an odd integer, properties usually associated with liquid crystal polymers are seen, while when x+y is an even integer birefringence above a major endotherm is observed but the spontaneous flow property usually seen with liquid crystal polymers is absent.(FR) Poly(estéramide) ayant des propriétés polymorphiques thermotropiques caractérisé par la structure à répétition (I) dans laquelle x est égal à des entiers compris entre 1 et 14; y est égal à des entiers compris entre 3 et 9; R1, R2 = H; lorsque x et y représentent un entier impair, on peut constater des propriétés habituellement associées aux polymères cristallins liquides, tandis que lorsque x et y représentent un entier pair on observe une biréfringence au-delà d'une plus grande endothermie, mais on ne constate pas la propriété d'écoulement spontané habituellement observée avec des polymères cristallins liquides.
