The total synthesis of naturalflavan racemates (±) 1, (±) 2 and natural flavones 3, 4 had thus been achieved. A straightforward synthetic procedure of flavans via the Pd‐C catalyzed hydrogenation/hydrogenolysis of corresponding flavones was developed.
