coupling of heteroarenes with thiophenols and phenothiazines has been developed under mild and environmentally benign reaction conditions. For the first time, NOx+ was applied for catalytic C–S and C–N bond formation. A comprehensive scope for the C–H/S–H and C–H/N–H cross-dehydrogenative coupling was demonstrated with >60 examples. The sustainable cross-coupling conditions utilize ambient oxygen as the

Flavin/I2
-Catalyzed Aerobic Oxidative C-H Sulfenylation of Aryl-Fused Cyclic Amines
A metal‐free aerobicoxidative C–H sulfenylation of aryl‐fused cyclic amines with various thiols was developed with excellent functional compatibility. While flavin I catalyzed the C–H sulfenylation of indolines to afford 3‐sulfenylindoles, flavin II enabled transformations resulting in substitution at the position para to the N atom on the aryl ring to obtain 6‐sulfenylquinolines.
The C-3 sulfenylation reaction of indoles has been achieved under mild reaction conditions by simply employing NaOH as promoter and thiols as thiolating reagents. This simple method allows for easy and rapid synthesis of various 3-sulfenylated indoles with generally good to excellent yields. Primary attempts in scale-up synthesis give satisfactory result.

A simple and convenient method has been developed for the construction of 3-thioindoles via molecular iodine-catalyzed direct thiolation of indoles with thiols. The present protocol, which employs thiols as the thiolating agents, inexpensive molecular iodine as the catalyst, and environmentally benign air as the oxidant, allows the regioselective generation of 3-thioindoles in good to excellent yields
A versatile method for the synthesis of 3-sulfenylated indoles via TBAI promoted sulfenylation of indoles with sulfonyl chlorides in one pot has been presented. This system features highly regioselective, metal-free, easy operation, and shows a broad functional group tolerance leading to excellent yields. And this reaction could be easily conducted in 10 mmol scale with high effectivity. A plausible
