Regiospecific prenylation: The flavonoid prenyltransferaseGuA6DT from Glycyrrhiza uralensis, is responsible for the prenylation of flavones. Hydroxy groups at both C‐5 and C‐7 positions are critical for the prenylation, and the prenylation regiospecifically occurs at C‐6. GuA6DT would be useful as an environmentally friendly and efficient biocatalyst for the preparation of bioactive prenylflavones

C-prenylated flavonoids via intramolecular [1,3] or [1,5] shift reaction of 5-O-prenylflavonoids catalyzed by Florisil or Montmorillonite clays is described. Florisil catalyzesintramolecular [1,5] shift reaction of 5-O-prenylflavonoids to obtain 8-C-prenylated flavonoids exclusively, Montmorillonite K10 exhibits the superior selectivity to promote intramolecular [1,3] shift reaction to obtain 6-C-prenylated
