In this contribution, a bindolylmaleimide dye (ABM) with anthracenesubstituted through a covalent single bond was synthesized and characterized by NMR and mass spectroscopic techniques. Emission of ABM was investigated in various solvents. The emission intensity of ABM is weak in dioxane and toluene, and negligible in other solvents. Toggle-switchable fluorescence of bisindolylmaleimide derivatives by reversible esterification/hydrolysis

quenching the fluorescence of bisindolylmaleimide. The fluorescence was recovered with its hydroxyl group esterified. Ester group can be easily transformed to hydroxyl group by hydrolysis reaction. Thus, a toggle-switchable fluorescence, ‘off–on’ cycle can be established on the basis of reversible esterification/hydrolysis reaction.

Double build-in chromophores with naphthalimide and bisindolylmaleimide incorporating to one molecule were synthesized efficiently and characterized fully. Its spectral properties were investigated. Effective intramolecular energy transfer together with the strong emission in solution and solid state were discussed in terms of its electronic structures. Optimized structure and frontier molecular orbital were calculated based on D 3 mol platform. Obviously electron delocalization before and after excitation was observed according to the molecular orbital calculation, which corresponds to the mechanism of excitation energy transfer through space occurred in the donor–linker–acceptor molecular system. The opto-physical properties of the dye indicated potential application of electro-optical materials.
高效合成了萘二甲酰亚胺和双吲哚马来酰亚胺双嵌发色团,并对其进行了全面表征。对其光谱特性进行了研究。从其电子结构的角度讨论了有效的分子内能量转移以及在溶液和固态中的强烈发射。基于 D 3 mol 平台计算了优化结构和前沿分子轨道。根据分子轨道计算结果,在激发前后观察到了明显的电子外迁现象,这与供体-连接体-受体分子体系中发生的激发能量空间转移机制相吻合。该染料的光物理性质表明其具有应用于电光材料的潜力。
