1-methyl-5-imidazolylcobalt(III)porphyrin (1Co) synthesized here assembled automatically into cyclic trimer and tetramer by intermolecular imidazolyl-cobalt(III) coordination. The trimer-tetramer equilibrium was dependent on concentration and solvent, as examined by NMR spectrometry.
