Polyoxyethylene ethers of homogeneous structure have been prepared from a macrocyclic, tetrahydric phenol (“HOC”), and from cholesterol by reaction with monofunctional derivatives of polyethylene glycols. Many practical difficulties had to be overcome in the preparation of these compounds.
