  Disclosed are coolants comprising brazed metal corrosion inhibitors.   Nitro-indane-diones, their production, and pharmaceutical compositions and their administration in forms suitable for the prophylaxis of asthma, hayfever and rhinitis in amounts effective for oral, parenteral and insufflation administration for such forms. The compounds are nitro-indane-diones of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 have certain designated meanings, obtained by nitration of a parent un-nitrated compound and wherein ring A contains 1 or 2 double bonds.
