Stabilized with an NHC ligand of the smallest steric profile, Pd(II)(²-O)(IMe) was synthesized by direct addition of dioxygen to Pd(0)(IMe). The peroxido palladium complex with IMe, which was previously available by only computation, was characterized with IR and X-ray crystallography.
