    To provide a cobalt complex which is liquid at room temperature, useful for producing a cobalt-containing thin film under conditions without using an oxidizing gas. A cobalt complex represented by the following formula (1): L 1 -Co-L 2 (1) wherein L 1 and L 2 represent a unidentate amide ligand of the following formula (A), a bidentate amide ligand of the following formula (B) or a hetero atom-containing ligand of the following formula (C): wherein R 1 and R 2 represent a C 1-6 alkyl group or a tri(C 1-6 alkyl)silyl group, and the wave line represents a binding site to the cobalt atom; wherein R 3 represents a tri(C 1-6 alkyl)silyl group, R 4 and R 5 represent a C 1-4 alkyl group, and X represents a C 1-6 alkylene group; wherein R 6 and R 8 represent a C 1-6 alkyl group, R 7 represents a hydrogen atom or a C 1-4 alkyl group, Y represents an oxygen atom or NR 9 , Z represents an oxygen atom or NR 10 , and R 9 and R 10 independently represent a C 1-6 alkyl group.

    A series of β-amino α,β-unsaturated ketones 3a-f and esters 3g-l may be conveniently prepared by dispersing ammonia (NH4OH solution), primary amines and 1,3-diketones or 1,3-keto esters on K-10 montmorillonite without solvent. This procedure was also applicable to the reactions of 3a and 3g with phenyl isocyanate and phenyl isothiocyanate which afford selectively the C-adducts 4a-d.

    (β-Oxoiminato)(phosphanyl)palladium complexes have been used as catalysts in Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reactions. In the presence of these palladium complexes, various aryl iodides and bromides were efficiently coupled with phenylboronic acid with extremely high turnover frequencies under mild conditions. Furthermore, the catalyst system was also found to be effective in the reactions of aryl chlorides

    The present invention relates to a process for preparing a solid catalyst component suitable for producing polyethylene and its copolymers, said process comprising the steps of: (a) contacting a dehydrated support having hydroxyl groups with a magnesium compound having the general formula MgR1R2; (b) contacting the product obtained in step (a) with modifying compounds (A) and/or (B) and/or (C), wherein: (A) is at least one oxygen and/or nitrogen comprising organic compound; (B) is a compound having the general formula R11f(R12O)gSiXh, (C) is a compound having the general formula (R13O)4M, and (c) contacting the product obtained in step (b) with a titanium halide compound having the general formula TiX4, wherein Ti is a titanium atom and X is a halide atom, wherein an organometallic compound is added after step (a) and before step (b). The invention also relates to a solid catalyst component obtainable by said process. The invention further relates to a process for producing polyethylene and its copolymers in the presence of the solid catalyst component and a cocatalyst.
