  [FR] Selon l'invention, on dose les mercaptans totaux dans un échantillon aqueux au moyen de la formation d'un produit de substitution chromophorique entre tous les mercaptans présents dans l'échantillon et un réactif répondant à la formule générale (I). Le glutathion réduit (GSH) est dosé sous forme d'une thione chromophorique formée spécifiquement, par alcalinisation, à partir du produit de substitution formé précédemment entre le GSH et le réactif. La concentration en mercaptans distincts du GSH est obtenue par différence des concentrations obtenues dans les dosages précédents. Application au dosage des mercaptans et du GSH, notamment en présence d'autres mercaptans, en particulier dans les milieux biologiques.
  [EN] Total mercaptans are assayed in an aqueous sample by forming a chromophoric substitution product between all the mercaptans in the sample and a reagent having general formula (I). Reduced glutathione (GSH) is assayed as a specifically-formed chromophoric thione by alkalinization from the substitution product formed in the above manner between the GSH and the reagent. The concentration of mercaptans other than GSH is determined on the basis of the difference in the concentrations obtained in the preceding assays. The assaying of mercaptans and GSH, particularly in the presence of other mercaptans, and especially in biological media, is a field of application.
