Various cyclopropenes and fluorinated cyclopropanes were prepared from readily available alkyl triflones and electron-deficient alkenes via a Michael addition initiated ringclosure (MIRC) process. This protocol not only has a broad substrates scope but also achieves good chemical yields and moderate diastereoselectivity.
