  The present invention provides a method of selectively controlling unwanted vegetation at a locus comprising sugarcane and the unwanted vegetation, wherein the method comprises applying to the locus :- a. a herbicide of formula (I) or an argo chemically acceptable salt thereof; and b. a PS-II inhibiting herbicide; wherein the amount of component (a) and component (b) applied to the locus provides control of the unwanted vegetation and wherein the amount of component (b) applied safens the herbicidal effect of component (a) on the sugarcane. The invention further provides a herbicide composition comprising (a) a herbicide of formula (I) or an agrochemically acceptable salt thereof; and (b) a herbicide selected from the group consisting of metribuzin, hexazinone and tebuthiuron.
