The present invention relates to a method for synthesising templated molecules. In one aspect of the invention, the templated molecules are linked to the template which templated the synthesis thereof. The intion allows the generation of libraries which can be screened for e.g. therapeutic activity.

Methods of modulating interfacial characteristics in a self-assembled, force-transmitting peptide network at a fluid-fluid interface are disclosed. The methods involve exposing a peptide capable of participating in a self-assembled, force-transmitting peptide network, either before or after it interacts with other peptides to form the peptide network to a stimulus that alters the chemical and/or physical properties of the peptide. Use of such methods in applications such as emulsions and foams are also disclosed.
The invention is in the field of growth of Mycobacteria. In particular, agents have been identified which enhance the growth of Mycobacterial species, which are naturally slow-growing. Such agents can therefore be used in the identification of Mycobacteria and in the diagnosis of Mycobacterial infections.

The present invention relates to emulsion-templated silica micro and nano-capsules- and methods for making them. In particular, the template emulsion is stabilized by a biosurfactant that also assists in nucleating the silica shell Mineralizing biosurfactants and stabilized micro- and nano-emulsions useful in forming the emulsion-templated micro- and nano-capsules, and methods for the use of the silica micro- and nano-capsules are also described.
