  The [α-(alkoxycarbonyl)vinyl]diisobutylaluminium reagents generated by hydroalumination from α, β-acetylenic esters and DIBAL-H were reacted with N-acylimines of hexafluoroacetone and methyl trifluoropyruvate to give trifluoromethyl substituted dehydro-β-amino acid derivatives.
