  A series of ethyl 3-methyl-1-phenyl-6-aryl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carboxylates were prepared by the reaction of 5-amino-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole with various aromatic aldehydes and ethyl pyruvate. The structure elucidation of the prepared compounds was carried out by spectroscopic techniques (mass, IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR).

  A microwave-assisted method for the synthesis of tetracyclic tetrahydropyridines via an intramolecular imino-Diels-Alder reaction in water is reported. The reaction proceeds under catalyst-free conditions and shows excellent stereoselectivity.

  Fluorescent probes allow the observation, detection, and distribution of living objects in the intracellular space. Because lipid storage is associated with the pathogenesis of highly prevalent metabolic diseases, the detection of lipid droplets, a type of subcellular organelle, is important. Herein, the synthesis of two series of blue‐fluorescent probes is reported.
