This work describes the use of cheap, safe, and easy-to-handle hydrosilatrane as the reductant in direct reductive amination reactions. This efficient method enables a facile, metal-free access to secondary and tertiaryaminesfrom a wide range of aldehydes and ketones, with the synthesis of tertiaryamines requiring no additives at all. This reaction demonstrates excellent functional group tolerance

the two‐fold C(sp3)−H silylation of various trialkylamine derivatives with dihydrosilanes, furnishing the corresponding 4‐silapiperidines in decent yields. The multi‐step reaction cascade involves amine‐to‐enamine dehydrogenation at two alkyl residues and two electrophilic silylation reactions of those enamines, one inter‐ and one intramolecular.
An oxygen-scavenging composition comprising an intimate mixture of (A) a compound having a skeleton of the following formula (1),
wherein R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, m is an integer of 3 to 5, and n is an integer of 1 to 3, provided that m + n equals 6,
(B) a transition metal compound and (C) a phosphorus compound. This composition is useful in a variety of fields requiring prevention of rust formation on metal, prevention of oxidation and decay of an organic substance, preservation of foods, prevention of insects and prevention of mold.
A disinfectant comprising at least one quaternary ammonium salt represented by the following general formula (1):
wherein R1 represents an alkyl group of 8-14 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 each represent an alkyl group of 1-2 carbon atoms, and [B] represents two monovalent inorganic or organic anion groups or one divalent inorganic or organic anion group. The disinfectant has excellent bacteriocidal activity and is suitable as a disinfectant for medical care and working areas.
