A practical synthesis of β-carbonyl phenyltetrazolesulfones, useful for a series of enantioselective reactions, is shown. Aryl, alkyl and ester carbonyl compounds all proved to be efficiently synthesised, leading to products in up to >99 % yield over two steps.
