The present invention relates to a coated article, comprising:
a cement composite substrate; and
a coating system applied to the substrate, wherein the coating system comprises an aqueous blend comprising:
(i) an epoxy resin; and
(ii) a latex polymer, distinct from the epoxy resin;
wherein the epoxy resin comprises at least one oxirane group; and
the coating system comprises at least one epoxide-reactive functional compound that contains one or more epoxy-reactive functional groups that react with the oxirane group;
and relates to a process for producing this article.
