There is provided a curable composition comprising (A) a cyclic olefin; (B) a metathesis catalyst for polymerizing the cyclic olefin; (C) a radical polymerization curable compound; and (D) a curing system for compound (C), wherein the curing system comprises a curing agent selected such that its half life t1/2CT at the curing temperature and the time tc80 needed to complete at least 80% of the cyclic olefin polymerization reaction at the curing temperature (CT) satisfy 2.5 times tc80 < t1/2CT < 1000 times tc80. The composition when used as a polymer matrix material in a composite retains a desirable combination of properties, in particular a good bonding with the reinforcing fibers. Also provided is a molded article comprising the composition and reinforcing fibers, and a method of manufacturing the same.

This invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the adhesion of resin compositions to substrate materials. More particularly, the invention relates to compositions and methods for improving the adhesion of ROMP compositions to substrate materials using an adhesion promoter composition, where the adhesion promoter composition comprises a pre-reacted mixture comprising at least one compound containing at least two isocyanate groups and at least one compound comprising a heteroatom-containing functional group and a metathesis active olefin, where the adhesion promoter composition is storage stable and/or possesses in-resin storage stability when added to a resin composition, particularly a cyclic olefin resin composition, such as a ROMP composition. The polymer products produced via ROMP reactions of the invention may be utilized for a wide range of materials and composite applications. The invention has utility in the fields of polymer and materials chemistry and manufacture.

Methods for fabricating three-dimensional objects by 3D-inkjet printing technology are provided. The methods utilize a combination of curable materials that polymerize via ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and curable materials that polymerize via free-radical polymerization (FRP) for fabricating the object. Systems suitable for performing these methods, kits containing modeling material formulations usable in the methods and objects obtained thereby are also provided.
