  据报道，在无金属条件下，使用二甲亚砜作为非常规甲基化试剂，α-C-H 甲基化吡嗪和吡嗪酮的不同合成。由二甲基亚砜和 1,2-二溴乙烷处理产生的二甲基亚砜配位的溴阳离子池经过 Pummerer 型碎裂，得到亲电甲基（亚甲基）硫鎓离子，用于与碳亲核试剂反应，然后芳构化得到 α-甲基化吡嗪和吡嗪酮类。
